The Hunslet and Riverside Area Cleaner Neighbourhoods Team (CNT) is not proactively patrolling for fly tipping or street waste issues as normal at the moment, but they are still removing reported issues. Please keep reporting these if you see it in our community. It will take longer to remove the waste or fly tipping than normal as staff levels are lower due to self-isolation, illness and redeployment of staff to support the household waste collection service.
There is also some confusion over what to do about domestic waste on the street near your waste bin collection spot if a waste bag has been ripped open and waste is on the street or if it has been dumped without being bagged at all:
You can report it to the CNT at https://www.leeds.gov.uk/residents/environmental-health/flytipping-and-waste-issues.
In both cases, these are not classed as missed bin collections. They are environmental issues. Reporting it to the correct team means it will be removed sooner and enforcement action taken if it is needed. It will also highlight structural or community issues with those specific streets, such as the need for a local education programme on waste management or a structural issue about bin collection spots.
