Following on from the Beeston Hill Residents Forum, myself, Cllr Iqbal met with the police, Waste Management Team (WMT), the Cleaner Neighbourhoods Team (CNT), Inner South Community Committee (ISCC) Officers and Highways Leeds.
Missed Bins: I and Cllr Mohammed Iqbal made it clear a long-term solution was needed. The WMT said the issue was due to a small number of drivers parking on the street junctions and in the back streets blocking the wagon. The wagons have large turning circles and collections were abandoned when the street is blocked so they can’t turn.
On Thursday I attended this resident meeting. Here is my report:
Path behind the Northcote Drive/Crescent: Resident asked if there had been any progression regarding making this path better to use. I advised the path isn’t on the register of paths and Cllr Nash had now started the process to have this added. Once this done, the path can be adopted. Until this was done, nothing could be done to the path as there is no clear owner. Residents expressed frustration at this as it has been used for nearly forty years. I fully appreciate this but if the path was not registered when the estate was built, the council must follow a process to officially create it as a path and take ownership.
