On Thursday I attended this resident meeting. Here is my report:
Path behind the Northcote Drive/Crescent: Resident asked if there had been any progression regarding making this path better to use. I advised the path isn’t on the register of paths and Cllr Nash had now started the process to have this added. Once this done, the path can be adopted. Until this was done, nothing could be done to the path as there is no clear owner. Residents expressed frustration at this as it has been used for nearly forty years. I fully appreciate this but if the path was not registered when the estate was built, the council must follow a process to officially create it as a path and take ownership.
Thank you to residents who joined us tonight. Myself, Cllr Mohammed Iqbal, Inner South Community Committee Meeting Officers and a West Yorkshire Police - Leeds South PCSO were there to give updates and take feedback from local people.reporting.
Last night I attended this community forum and gave an update on the following:
School Parking: I had contacted Leeds Highways to ask what work had been done on this. They said a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) was already in place and this allowed enforcement to happen but this couldn’t be done full time and Leeds Highways advised extending the TRO would just displace the parking into the nearby estate. I suggested a meeting was held between myself, the school and the RA management committee to look at what to do next. In the meantime, I had sent a request for more information on behavior based parking schemes. Some residents expressed a concern over some teacher parking habits. I said would raise this but once the building work at school was done, the teachers car park would be back in use and this should stop being an issue.
